When we applied for the International school award, it was our mutual interest to have a reciprocal relationship and to improve the sense of global responsibility in our pupils staff and local communities.
Each day was challenging and exciting. One of the challenge that the partnership addressed very successfully was overcoming the wide disparity in the number of students in school. However the schools were determined to involve each and every student in the partnership.
The entire school got into ISA mood and the projects gave impetus to creativity and ingenuity of every student.
What seemed like a ‘Herculean task’ soon became a Joyful journey. It added enthusiasm to our school activities.
The students who worked on the projects in their own way expressed how the activities excited their imagination and satisfied their curiosity about the world.
The students came out of their shells and participated without any inhibitions.
This was very satisfying as the students rarely volunteered to share the platform with teachers and usually do not get the opportunity to display the best of their talents. It helped the students to transcend from the textbooks and reach out to the world.
We have realized that we are the inhabitants of global village and the political boundaries have only geographical relevance.
We look forward to carry on our saga of internationalism in the forth coming years, enriching our learning and teaching process, spreading our wings and going beyond the confines of the classroom.
